Not starchy enough?

I have been slow to start my mini-quilt for our AMQG challenge. I see Jacqui and Karyn have finished theirs (way before April 10)! Still trawling around for ideas I found some orphan blocks in my wardrobe - unpicked one seam, stitched another, and hey presto!
I feel like I have cheated, so if I have time I will intentionally make another for the challenge, but in the meantime I have a back-up plan. Yay.

On another note entirely, and directed at any kiwi readers - I have had a bit of trouble with my NYB blocks stretching and notice some people are advocating the use of starch spray. I toddled off to the supermarket to get some...not a successful outcome! Have we thrown off the shackles of our colonial past to the extent we no longer starch??? Or is starch a specialist product? Not even trusty google could help me. Any ideas fellow non-starchy kiwis?

  1. Love the way you used up some orphan blocks! Nice work! I have a few of those hiding away in the cupboard too.

Not a Kiwi, but a close neighbour so I'm interested in how you go with the starch. I've never used it before but hoping to find some to try out on a project in the near future.
